The five star ‘opera for babies’ BambinO will be presented at The Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman next Spring as part of its 2018/19 Season.
Scottish Opera productions have been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards.
Audiences coming to see Ariadne auf Naxos in Glasgow have the opportunity to enjoy the premiere performance of a 15 minute piece by Samuel Bordoli, Scottish Opera’s Composer in Residence, based on the final pages of Bernard MacLaverty’s Booker Prize shortlisted novel Grace Notes.
On Friday 16 February, Chinese New Year, Scottish Opera officially launched its Confucius Classroom Hub status with a special performance of the Company’s Primary School Tour production, The Dragon of the Western Sea, at Jordanhill Primary in Glasgow.
The Orchestra of Scottish Opera is featured on a forthcoming album, Dark Water, of music by composer Malcolm Lindsay with a libretto by PJ Moore, formerly of The Blue Nile.
