Lliam Paterson, former Scottish Opera Composer in Residence, has written the score for a new documentary called ‘A Symphony in Stone.’ Members of The Orchestra of Scottish Opera perform Lliam’s music in the 60-minute programme which ‘celebrates and explains Glasgow’s stunning cityscape and architecture.’
Scottish Opera won two awards at the Sunday Herald Culture Awards which took place at SWG3 in Glasgow on Thursday 12 July. Former Scottish Opera Emerging Artist, Catherine Backhouse, won Best Musical Artist and John Liddell, Head of Costume, was presented with the Behind the Scenes Award.
Scottish Opera’s performance of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Opera on 3 programme on Saturday 16 June at 6.30pm.

Scottish Opera’s production of Debussy’s Pelléas and Mélisande has been nominated for The South Bank Sky Arts Award for Opera.
