A SYMPHONY IN STONE WINS BEST UK DOCUMENTARY AT THE ATLANTA AWARD-QUALIFYING FILM FESTIVAL 2020

A Symphony in Stone, scored by former Scottish Opera Composer in Residence Lliam Paterson, with Tony Burton, Scottish Opera Board Member, as Executive Producer, has won the Best UK Documentary at the Atlanta Award-Qualifying Film Festival 2020. This follows on from the project’s success at the Kyiv Film Festival (Ukraine) 2020, where it won Best British Feature.

Fever! Online Receives Global Praise

Fever!, our online opera for kids, was a hit with families across the globe as they tuned in for a live stream performance on Monday 22 June. After an incredible five weeks sharing online teaching resources from this popular primary school production, we were delighted to welcome around 200 enthusiastic families to the live stream of the show.

ONLINE WORLD PREMIERE OF SCOTTISH OPERA’S NEW SHORT FILM THE NARCISSISTIC FISH

We are thrilled to announce the premiere of our first ever short film, The Narcissistic Fish, which we will launch on Thursday 18th June at 7pm, on our website. The 12-minute film is a collaboration between Scottish Opera’s Composer in Residence Samuel Bordoli, Scottish poet and novelist Jenni Fagan (The Panopticon) and our own in-house filmmaker, Antonia Bain.
