Following the Scottish Government’s update on 20 August to the routemap out of the Covid-19 crisis, we are thrilled to announce a programme of seated outdoor performances. These include a special production of Puccini’s La bohème and a Pop-up Opera tour.
Scottish Opera's partnership with The Lammermuir Festival continues to grow, and this year – even in our current unusual circumstances – is no exception. This September's online festival programme includes Janáček’s The Diary of One Who Disappeared, performed by former Scottish Opera Emerging Artist Nicky Spence. Conducted by Stuart Stratford, the concert performance will take place at Scottish Opera's production studios in Glasgow on Sunday 20 September at 7.30pm and will be available for audiences to watch live online.
The members of Scottish Opera Young Company were last together in the rehearsal room in March 2020, as they worked towards a much-anticipated production of Stephen Sondheim’s The Frogs. With mass cancellation of live events and lockdown looming, the performances scheduled for April were put on hold... but now they're back!
