Scottish Opera presents digital Opera Highlights production on World Opera Day

While an Autumn tour of Opera Highlights usually sees four singers and a pianist travelling the length and breadth of Scotland, this year’s online production is a celebration of opera, music and performance in the time of social distancing. The digital production, filmed in the theatre of The Beacon Arts Centre, Greenock, will be available to audiences across Scotland and beyond on Scottish Opera’s website on Sunday 25 October at 6pm, which coincides with World Opera Day.

Scottish Opera join Scottish Book Trust’s Arts Alive pilot programme for schools along with other national companies

Scottish Opera have announced plans to collaborate with the Scottish Book Trust on a project for primary school pupils called Arts Alive. A new pilot programme for schools which will be delivered by Scottish Book Trust in 2021 involves all of Scotland's National Performing Companies – Scottish Ballet, National Theatre of Scotland, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
