THE ORCHESTRA OF SCOTTISH OPERA IN THE SPOTLIGHT THIS SEASON

In our 2024/25 Season, you can enjoy The Orchestra of Scottish Opera in our opera productions and in concert throughout Scotland. From Glasgow and Edinburgh to Dundee and Ayr, they will be performing alongside a range of choir ensembles and world-class soloists.

Paisley Opera's Faust
Their next engagement is two performances of Faust with Paisley Opera, on 6 & 9 October at Paisley Methodist Central Hall. A powerful re-telling of Gounod’s sumptuous music drama, the community chorus is joined by international soloists, The Orchestra of Scottish Opera and local Paisley dance company right2dance. 6 & 9 October. Afternoon Recital with Chloe Harris
On 29 October, join 2024/25 Emerging Artist Chloe Harris for an afternoon recital performing Faure's Pavane, Op. 50 and Berlioz's Les nuits d'été (Summer Nights), Op. 7, accompanied by The Orchestra of Scottish Opera. The Puccini Collection
First performed in Dundee in 2021, The Puccini Collection travels to Edinburgh and Glasgow on 22 & 23 November to mark the centenary of the great composer’s death. The concert features favourite arias and extended excerpts from Giacomo Puccini's varied and vibrant career.

From rare earlier works Le villi and Edgar to glorious highlights from masterpieces such as Tosca, La fanciulla del West, Gianni Schicchi, and La bohème, The Puccini Collection celebrates one of the most popular and beloved opera composers. The Strauss Collection
On 6 & 8 March 2025 we are delighted to present a concert spanning some of the finest pieces Richard Strauss ever wrote, with music from Ariadne auf NaxosArabella, and Der Rosenkavalier.

Stuart Stratford conducts The Orchestra of Scottish Opera through these lush sound worlds. The all-star cast includes sopranos Helena Dix and Rhian Lois (La bohème 2020), mezzo-soprano Hanna Hipp (Kátya Kabanová 2019), and baritone Roland Wood (Marx in London! 2024), all making the most of Strauss’ astounding understanding of the human voice. 6 & 8 March 2025. Ayr Concert Series
Newly on sale is The Orchestra of Scottish Opera in concert at Ayr Town Hall on 14 February 2025, part of Ayr Concert Series. Conducted by Gabriella Teychenné, the programme unites two influential Romantic masters: Wagner and Bruckner. 14 February 2025. Book tickets now

Also now on sale, Dundee Choral Union present two concerts on 15 December and 17 March 2025, and the much-loved Christmas Cracker with the City of Glasgow Chorus at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 22 December.
