Scottish Opera Young Company’s most recent production – a double bill of Henry MacPherson’s Maud and Kurt Weill’s Down in the Valley – has just completed a successful tour of Glasgow, Largs and Stirling, and has received praise from critics and audiences alike for what Ear to the Ground! called ‘stellar’ performances.
Congratulations are due to two members of the Scottish Opera family who are recognised in The King’s Birthday Honours this year. John Fulljames’ new production of Carmen has stirred audiences and critics alike, playing to packed theatres with 10 performances in Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen, and closing its tour with five performances in Edinburgh.
Today (12 May), we unveiled our 2023/24 Season, which includes a UK premiere, a Scottish premiere, a Scottish Opera Young Company double bill, and revivals of some of our most beloved productions. The Season promises to be a celebratory showcase of the power and beauty of opera.
